This weekend through Monday will see temperatures of 100 degrees and higher, possibly breaking Spokane’s previous record, according to the National Weather Service. Spokane’s Andrew Von Lossow and University of Idaho’s Dalton Dean led a strong showing by area amateurs in Friday’s opening round of the 37th Rosauers Open Invitational. Von Lossow and Dean each birdied all three par-5s and carded 6-under-par 65s at Indian Canyon Golf Course to move to the top of a crowded leaderboard. Seven officers and three others hospitalized after high-speed chase in North Spokane
Seven police officers and three other people were hospitalized Friday after three vehicles collided during a high-speed chase in North Spokane. Interim Spokane Police Chief Justin Lundgren said he spoke with all seven officers in the hospital, and he expects them to make full recoveries. Lundgren said his understanding is that no one is in critical condition, including the three others in the suspect vehicle. A police canine was also injured in the crash.
At Washington universities, enrollment questions persist
