Overdose awareness event planned
PORT CLINTON — There will be an Overdose Awareness Day event from 4-6 p.m. on Aug. 31 in The District of downtown Port Clinton. It's being put on by the Ottawa County Prevention Coalition. It's a community coalition "utilizing multi-agency collaboration to remove barriers, provide education, raise awareness and encourage healthy lifestyles in our community," according to an agency statement.
🌀Hurricane Beryl will blast Ohio late Tuesday night through Thursday
Good morning, Ottawa County. Expect to see some strange weather the next couple of days as the remnants of Hurricane Beryl hit. The expected high Tuesday is 81 degrees with a low of 71 degrees and a 90% chance of thunderstorms in the evening. From Tuesday through Thursday there could be three-quarters of an inch of rain per day, with more in pockets, but all of this depends on the path of the storm and how quickly it dissipates.

Former kids football coach accused of stealing thousands from league pleads guilty
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A former Genoa youth football coach who police say stole thousands of dollars from the league for personal use took a plea deal.
