    Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash in Ottumwa

    OTTUMWA, Iowa — A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash in Ottumwa Tuesday morning.

    At around 11:41 a.m. emergency crews responded to the intersection of Highway 63 and Rochester Road on a report of a car vs. motorcycle crash.

    According to the Ottumwa Police Department, the motorcyclist, identified as 33-year-old Dakota Jeffery Boyer, was seriously injured in the crash. Boyer was initially transported to a nearby hospital, but was later transported to another hospital via air ambulance for further treatment.

    The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash, 25-year-old Dariann Chyeanne Burk, was not injured, Ottumwa police said.

    An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
