The Bucktail Fire that's burning near Nucla in western Colorado's Montrose County has grown to 4,206 acres per a report that was released on the afternoon of August 8. The blaze started on August 1, with the cause of ignition still unknown.

According to officials, containment of the fire is currently at 10 percent with 193 personnel working the blaze. On Thursday, crews will be conducting strategic aerial and hand ignitions on the northwestern side of the fire in hopes of controlling speed, intensity, and overall fire behavior. This work is expected to increase smoke in the area.

Temperatures remain above-normal in this part of Colorado with a decreased level of moisture. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected in the area on Thursday, along with windy conditions.

No evacuations are currently underway as a result of the fire, which burns on both public and private land. Road and area closures are in place, however, impacting some local trails, as well.

A full closure map as well as additional updates can be found here .
