The popular Imogene Pass has been closed to Royer Gulch due to a mudslide that has caused extensive road damage. Located in southwest Colorado and connecting Ouray to Telluride, this part of the state has been experiencing significant precipitation in recent days and weeks.

According to the San Miguel County Sheriff's Office, the pass has been closed in this area indefinitely with an unknown time of reopening.

Images show significant debris sitting on the route.

The Sheriff's Office noted that Road and Bridge has been notified about the situation. The sheriff thanked the public for their patience while a remedy is found.

In another update, the Sheriff's Office also noted that Black Bear Pass will remain closed for the season due to damage sustained earlier in the summer. Bridal Veil Road remains open.
