Three of top 100 'Labor Day Weekend' events across US held in Colorado

Labor Day Weekend is finally here, meaning a top weekend for summer travel is upon us. Coloradans looking to stay relatively local, but still have a great time will be happy to hear that the Centennial State is home to three of the weekend's top events nationwide.

A company called MixBook utilized an online survey of 3,000 Americans to determine which Labor Day Weekend events around the United States were most worth checking out.

Ranking the highest on the list as far as Colorado spots go was the Colorado State Fair, held in Pueblo through September 2. Aside from the typical fair activities, this year will feature shows from several major artists, including Ludacris, the Goo Goo Dolls, and Trace Adkins. Another top-ranking event in Colorado was the Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off festival, known for sending colorful balloons across the sky with a mountainous backdrop. This event ranked 13th overall. Find additional information on this event here .

The top event nationwide was the Los Angeles Labor Day Parade.
