Massive 'ominous' figure spotted clinging to cliff in Colorado: "At least 20 feet tall"

Two hikers in the area of Colorado's iconic Longs Peak and Mount Meeker shared an odd sighting in the public 14ers.com Facebook group on September 1, with an image capturing what appears to be a massive human figure clinging to a cliffside.

"I didn’t notice this ominous figure in between the top of longs peak and meeker on the cliff face until we got home and looked through our pictures from the day. Super bizarre," wrote Jessee C. in a post in the group. Jessee estimated that the figure was "at least 20 feet tall."

The 'figure' captured in the images shared by Jessee definitely appears to be humanoid at a glance, with what looks like two legs and two arms accompanied by a proportional back.

That said, as many commenters have pointed out, it's most likely a rock formation caught by the light in an odd way. Logic points to this answer, as well, as it would be highly unlikely that any sort of massive being is wandering around the Rockies unnoticed.

Granted, this post is a sort of nod to the long-standing belief held by some that cryptids lurk in the Centennial State, including Bigfoot and the Slide Bolter .

When it comes to this sighting, this writer is going with 'rocks' as the solution, too, but either way, it's a reminder to always be aware and alert while in Colorado's backcountry – you never know what you might see.
