Most people have goals that they want to accomplish before they 'kick the bucket,' thus bucket listing tends to be a key driver for seeking out new experiences to cherish for a lifetime.

A recent survey published by Choice Mutual addressed this very topic, asking Americans around the country what items were included their respective bucket lists.

While Wisconsinites had the longest bucket lists nationwide with an average 24.92 items, Coloradans weren't far behind, ranking 11th overall with an average of 20.83 items.

Here's a breakdown of the 'top 10' items found on Coloradans' lists according to the Choice Mutual survey:

Visit specific landmarks in EuropeVisit specific landmarks in North AmericaVisit all 50 U.S. statesRetire earlyLearn a new languageBecome a millionaireVisit specific landmarks in AsiaHike a specific trailVisit specific landmarks in AfricaBuild a house

While most of Coloradans' picks were found among the top 20 picks nationwide, the one that wasn't was 'Visit specific landmarks in Africa.' Meanwhile, the top 'bucket list' pick among all Americans mirrored Colorado's top pick – 'visit specific landmarks in Europe,' which was found on 50.57 percent of bucket lists nationwide. Three 'top ten' picks nationwide that were absent from Coloradans' 'top 10' were 'travel via cruise,' 'travel via train,' and 'see a specific artist/band in concert.'

A few lesser-picked 'bucket list' items nationwide included 'spend a night in jail' (2.07%), 'join a commune' (2.38%), and 'see specific landmarks in Antarctica' (5.53%). Several specific events and a few not-safe-for-work activities were also found near the bottom of the list.
