Tapping into the talents of well-known stars Clive Owen and Melissa McCarthy, Paramount Plus is set to produce an eight-episode limited series centered on the story of the JonBenét Ramsey murder that took place in Boulder on December 25, 1996.

The series, with a working title of JONBENÉT RAMSEY, is slated to start production in Canada. Paramount Plus describes the series as exploring "the tragic unsolved murder of six-year-old beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey" following "the Ramsey family, before and after the tragedy as they go through the painful loss of a child while facing intense public scrutiny caused by a media frenzy that caused this case to captivate an entire nation."

Owen and McCarthy will play the roles of JonBenét's parents "who had committed themselves and their children to building the narrative of a perfect, privileged life only to have it destroyed one Christmas night in 1996."

Academy Award nominee Richard LaGravenese is described as showrunner and executive producer with Anne Sewitsky set to direct four episodes.

An expected release date was not included in the initial press release about the show. Find that press release here .
