Restaurant in remote mountain town dubbed one of best 'casual dining' spots in US

TripAdvisor recently released their 'Best of the Best' rankings for top restaurants around the United States in a number of categories, with one category being that of 'casual dining.' Among 25 establishments that were included on their list of top 'casual dining' spots nationwide, a lone Colorado restaurant was featured.

Selections for TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice Awards 'Best of the Best' titles are based on a number of factors, including the number of positive reviews. Less than one percent of the eight million establishments listed on the website receive a 'Best of the Best' award, and even fewer make it onto one of their 'top spots' rankings.

While the top 'casual dining' spot nationwide was deemed to be That's Amore in Miami Beach, Durango's Derailed Pour House ended up ranking 12th on their list. With a rare five-star TripAdvisor rating and 2,600 reviews, there's no doubt this place is a hit among its patrons.

TripAdvisor describes this mountain town spot as having a "cozy restaurant vibe" and a creative menu. As the top-rated restaurant in Durango, according to TripAdvisor, the menu at Derailed Pour House features everything from tacos to a Caprese chicken sandwich to handmade burgers. It's also known for its happy hour and wide range of cocktails . And don't forget about the atmosphere provided by a wood-burning fireplace.

Derailed Pour House is yet another great restaurant that's contributed to putting the Durango food scene on the map. While Durango is relatively remote in southwest Colorado and best known for the nearby outdoor recreation, it's becoming a destination for 'foodies' in recent years, as well.
