A fourth suspect has been arrested in a case out of Littleton that involved a man being tied up an tortured over a 14-hour period in his own home .

According to authorities, the victim's housemates were allegedly to blame, with the 45-year-old victim said to have been beaten, burned, and whipped. One of the suspects is also said to have stepped on the victim's neck, causing him to lose consciousness. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says that it wasn't until an uninvolved person who was also in the house helped the man that he was freed and taken to a hospital on the morning of September 16.

Most recently, 39-year-old Jimmy Ray Smith II was arrested as a suspect in the case on charges including attempted 1st degree murder, 2nd degree kidnapping, 1st and 2nd degree assault, and crime of violence with a weapon. During a search for a fourth suspect, law enforcement says they tracked Smith to a pizza shop and put him in custody.

The three other men that were arrested include homeowner 49-year-old Jason Carlson, 48-year-old Sherell Allen, and 41-year-old Luke Anaya.

All charges are merely accusations and suspects are to be considered innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt in a court of law.
