Nine Colorado hotels rank among Conde Nast Traveler's top 20 resorts in Mountain West

Well-known luxury and lifestyle travel magazine Conde Nast Traveler has announced the results of its Readers' Choice Awards and nine Colorado resorts made the list of the top 20 resorts in the American Mountain West.

More than 575,000 readers voted in Conde Nast Traveler's 37th annual Readers' Choice Awards survey, rating their travel experiences across the world in categories including resorts, cities, trains, and more.

Here's a look at the Colorado hotels that ranked among the Mountain West's best resorts:

Ranking first among the Colorado resorts is Viceroy Snowmass , taking third place overall. Located in the luxurious mountain town of Aspen, the resort offers restaurants, a spa, outdoor pools, and ski-in, ski-out accommodations.

The Hythe, A Luxury Collection Resort, Vail ended up coming in fourth place overall. Set among the Rocky Mountains, the resort offers design, decor, and dining that "pay homage to Vail founders Earl Eaton and Pete Seibert and the mountain's 1960s heyday," according to Conde Nast Traveler.

Beaver Creek's The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, Avon, Vail Valley ranked sixth. The resort provides easy access to Beaver Creek Resort via the Riverfront Express Gondola and amenities including a full-service spa, gym, restaurants, and more.

Ranking seventh is Manor Vail Lodge , another Vail Valley resort within walking distance of the mountain town's best attractions (including the slopes, Vail Village, Betty Ford Gardens, and Ford Amphitheater).

Next up among the Colorado hotels that made the list is The Broadmoor in ninth place. Located in Colorado Springs, the resort boasts 20 restaurants, cafes, and lounges, two golf courses, a spa, and 20 retail outlets. The Broadmoor is an iconic Colorado destination resort, on the edge of a major metropolitan while coming with big mountain views. Plus, the resort offers a number of outdoor recreation-related excursions for guests and the public.

Dunton Hot Springs took twelfth place. The 1800s ghost town turned unique luxury resort is nestled in the San Juan mountains, offering a variety of day and overnight packages.

Another Vail resort, The Sonnenalp Hotel , ranked thirteenth. The hotel provides "European elegance, in the heart of the Vail Valley," including a ski concierge, a spa, four award-winning restaurants, and more.

Located at one of Colorado's most iconic natural landmarks, the Garden of the Gods Resort and Club came in at eighteenth place. Set among the red rock sandstone formations, the resort aims to create the "ultimate escape where recreation and relaxation reign supreme and where the distractions of the outside world disappear." Those looking to check out this spot without booking a room should plan to visit the on-site restaurant and bar, which recently opened to the public and offers a great happy hour.

The last Colorado hotel on the list, ranking twentieth, is C Lazy U Ranch in Granby. The all-inclusive dude ranch offers luxury accommodations and guests can participate in fun ranch activities like horseback riding.
