Three overdue hikers rescued on Beaver Creek Trail

Three overdue hikers were rescued in the Beaver Creek area on Oct. 12, according to a Facebook post from the Western Mountain Rescue Team (WMRT).

WMRT was paged for the hikers, and because it was for a large search area, they made a search plan and were preparing to respond at first light.

The hikers were able to send a location via SPOT beacon, and seven rescuers deployed to the Beaver Creek trail to narrow down their location. The rescuers eventually made contact with the subjects who were all unharmed but preparing to spend the night in a gulley. The hikers were able to walk most of the way out, but one did eventually need a wheel out.
