Denver breaks temperature record set in 1878
Denver hit 101 degrees at 12:56 p.m. on Sunday, breaking a 146-year-old record-high temperature set on July 14. The old daily record was 100 degrees set in 1878, according to an X post from the National Weather Service (NWS) Boulder. The post also states that although clouds are moving over the area, the temperature could still rise another degree or two. Denver also broke a daily record on Friday when the temperature reached 102 degrees. According to the NWS, the last time Denver reached 102 degrees was July 8, 2021. Firefighters rescue man after he gets hit by train
Firefighters rescued a man after he was hit by a train in Glenwood Springs on July 9. The Glenwood Springs Fire Department responded to a reported train versus pedestrian accident near the railroad tracks west of the train station, according to a Facebook post. When they arrived, firefighters found a man who was injured by a passing train. The firefighters assessed the patient and provided immediate medical care before hoisting him up a steep hill to an ambulance. The man was taken to Valley View Hospital with injuries. Rescue teams save boaters as boat takes on water
Rescuers responded to an incident at Chatfield State Park on Saturday, according to an X post by South Metro Fire Rescue. South Metro Fire Rescue, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and Jefferson County responded to the incident. The boat was taking on water.
