Caldwell Zoo announces hatchings of rare Texas horned lizard
TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - The Caldwell Zoo has announced alongside the Texas parks and Wildlife the hatchings of horned lizards once facing the threat of extinction. The species known as the Texas Horned Lizard is considered a rare species in the lone star state after its numbers declined across the southern US. In an effort to restore its population, the Texas Parks and Wildlife along with the Caldwell Zoo established a “Texas Horned Lizard Conservation Center” on the zoo grounds to support the restoration of the species.
