Father and son indicted for embezzling funds from Hannibal Fire Company
HANNIBAL, N.Y. — The father-son duo accused of stealing nearly $15,000 from the Hannibal Fire Company were officially indicted Friday. Former Hannibal Fire Chief Chris Emmons and his father, volunteer firefighter Carl Emmons Sr. were arrested in February for allegedly stealing $18,000 and $2,500 respectively from the fire department.

ITHACA, N.Y. — The Ithaca Common Council will discuss a new piece of proposed environmental legislation that aims to protect birds from untimely deaths. The Ithaca Common Council’s proposed ordinance, sponsored by Fourth Ward Alderperson Patrick Kuehl, would require all new buildings to meet the standard set by US Green Buildings Council’s Leed rating system to receive the Reducing Bird Collisions Credit.
