For the fifth time in a row, the Owatonna baseball team had two players named to the All-Section team.

Seniors Noah Truelson and Mitch Seykora were named to the 2024 1AAAA All-Section team after impressive seasons playing for the Huskies. Truelson and Seykora were also named to the Big 9 all-conference team, with senior Ethan Armstrong being an honorable mention.

Both players played in all 23 games for the Huskies. Truelson lead the Huskies with a .365 batting average and 23 hits. Truelson also had a .474 on-base percentage, 10 RBIs and 13 walks.

Seykora, who had a .333 batting average and a .466 on-base percentage, led the Huskies in slugging percentage with .470 and in on-base percentage plus slugging (OPS) with .936. Seykora had the Huskies only home run of the season, and also tied with junior Tayte Berg with the most doubles with four, tied with Berg and senior Owen Beyer with the moist triples with one, and tied with Armstrong with the most walks with fifteen.

This is Seykora’s third time being named to the all-section team, with him being named to the team in 2022 and 2023 as well. Seykora also represented the Minnesota South team in the Minnesota High School All-Star game last month, recording two hits in the game.

Seykora is going to play for the Iowa Central Community College Tritons baseball team while Truelson is attending Southeast Technical College in the fall.

On top of the all-section honors to Truelson and Seykora, Owatonna also earned the Class AAAA academic gold standard, making it the second year in a row for the Huskies.
