Travis Schulte Wins First Modified Feature Win Friday Night at the Princeton Speedway.
Princeton, MN (July 19) – After one week off, the Princeton Speedway went green Friday night for some WISSOTA Dirt Track Race action. The MN Micro Sprints were on hand for Sparkle Night presented by the Princeton Ambassadors and Jim Gullikson, Cole Boston, Travis Schulte, Dexton Koch, Justin Schelitzche and Jack Lobin went home with wins.

Gem Days was all about the kids Friday morning. Festivities began with a kids parade down Cedar Avenue, with kids and families migrating to Central Park for more fun afterwards. RE/MAX's annual Crazy Hair Contest in the park featured the wildest hairstyles in town. Emma Harris, 5, won first place in the 6 and under category for her hair, which was braided into a swing set for a doll. She was followed by Natalie Westphall in second and Dawson Gill in third. Avelaine Westphall, 8, took first place in the 7 and up category, sporting a bun styled into the solar system. She was followed by James Harris in second and Julia Niegebauer in third.

Some Minnesota credit unions impacted by Microsoft outage
MINNEAPOLIS — Some banking systems around Minnesota felt the impact Friday of a global tech outage. Anyone who called Blaze Credit Union heard a recorded message saying they're experiencing issued related to the outage. A message on Blaze's website said they're experiencing connectivity issues at their contact center and that digital and phone banking are impacted. An Affinity Plus Credit Union spokesperson said their online mortgage application is down, but other than that, their issues are mainly internal. Considering all of the impacts across the globe, Affinity Plus CIO Radha Chavali says they're feeling fortunate."We are really fortunate that we have not had any big critical external impact to our members," said Chavali. "All of our critical services including online digital banking, our phone contact center, all of those are up and operational."As far as the larger banks, U.S. Bank says they have zero impacts because they don't use CrowdStrike.Huntington Bank has no known impacts, and a Wells Fargo spokesperson says they have no information to share at this point.

Kids Discover Fossils at the Minnesota Discovery Center
CHISHOLM, Minn.– Kids experienced a day full of discoveries while hunting for fossils. “Paleo- Camp” gave kids the opportunity to find fossils that are around 90 million years old. Using a variety of tools, the campers combed through the Hill Annex State Park to make discoveries of their own. They were able to find things like snails, and shark teeth. For some, the hands-on discovery can spark a new passion.
