Silver Streaks win their last two games of the year

The Silver Streaks senior softball team from Owatonna ended their 2024 season on a high note, with them winning their last two games of the year at a year-end event in Northfield on Tuesday, August 20.

The Northfield teams sponsored the event with ball games and food afterwards. There were six area teams, with three in each division.

The “A” division younger players and “B” division older players. Owatonna’s Senior Silver Streaks “B” team averages over 74 years old with 6 members over 80.

Each team played 2 games in their respective division. In the “A” division, the Faribault team won both games against Northfield and Rochester. In the “B” division, Owatonna’s Silver Streaks defeated Northfield 15-12 in the 1st game and then defeated Cannon Falls 9-5 in the final game.

For winning the last 2 games of the year, the Owatonna Silver Streaks received a trophy and took a picture next to it with the players who played on Tuesday.
