The energy inside the Medford High School gym was electric Tuesday night, as the Medford student section roared throughout the Tigers’ volleyball match against NRHEG.

The Panthers gave it their all, but they were no match for Medford, as the Tigers won the lone home match of their Homecoming week. The crowd was hyped up all throughout the Tigers’ 3-0 win.

The Tigers came out of the deck swinging as they scored the first point of the first set and did not look back. They won the set 25-18 and were even more dominant in the second set, winning 25-13.

Facing elimination, the Panthers kept it close in the third set, with the two teams being even throughout the first half of the set.

But the Tigers slowly pulled away and were able to get an advantage and win the set 25-20 to win the match. They had the crowd on their side all match as home court advantage during homecoming week definitely was a factor in the win.

The Tigers will be on the road Thursday as they face off against Randolph while the Panthers will be home on Thursday as they face off against Bethlehem Academy. Both matches start at 7:15 p.m.
