OMU proceeding with work on $2M Hillcrest water tank replacement

Officials at Owensboro Municipal Utilities are moving forward with replacing the long-decommissioned water tank at Hillcrest Golf Course, and have plans to tear down the old tank in the first quarter of next year.

The water tank has been offline at the golf course since 2017, and the neighboring area is served by water pumps. Instead of replacing the water tank, OMU officials decided to build two pump stations into the area’s water delivery system, which will increase water pressure for the area’s neighborhoods, and for businesses along Ragu Drive.
