Suspect in Massachusetts drug trafficking ring sentenced to prison

BOSTON (WWLP) – A man from Oxford was sentenced to prison for drug charges in connection with his role in trafficking cocaine.

According to the Department of Justice in Boston, an investigation revealed that the drug distribution conspiracy operated primarily out of a stash house in Weymouth, with additional evidence located inside an apartment in Quincy and a Jeep Cherokee.

In January 2021, police seized over 40 grams of fentanyl, over $270,000 in cash, a money counter, and a loaded Glock inside the apartment. A drug factory was discovered at a Weymouth stash house and two presses used to form controlled substances into kilogram-sized bricks and extensive drug paraphernalia, including blenders, digital scales, and packaging equipment were found.

Four suspects, Chaasad Cyprien, Aderito Amado, Neylton Fontes, and Erica Vieira were arrested in connection with their roles in distributing fentanyl, fentanyl analogue, and cocaine in and around Quincy and Weymouth.

Cyprien, Amado, and Fontes were arrested while sitting inside a Jeep that contained controlled substances, including cocaine and cocaine base. Two cellular devices recovered from the Jeep were identified as belonging to Cyprien that contained evidence, including communications and/or images, that further connected Cyprien to the drug trafficking conspiracy.

Cyprien pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute cocaine and to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine. He was sentenced to two years in prison and three years of supervised release. Amado, Fontes, and Vieira are awaiting sentencing.
