    Woman killed when Mainer allegedly driving truck with fake plates crashed into her car

    A woman was killed Wednesday morning in an Oxford crash.

    Trudy Giroux, 65, of Norway was pulling out of the Irving gas station on Route 26, also known as Main Street, in a Subaru Legacy about 10 a.m. when she was struck by a pickup truck driven by 42-year-old Shannon Evans of Mexico, according to News Center Maine .

    Giroux died at the scene, the TV station reported.

    Evans allegedly had fake license plates on the truck, and was charged with evasion of registration fees and excise taxes, according to News Center Maine.

    No additional information was immediately available.

    Well, typically if your vehicle is not registered or insured LEGALLY, you would be at fault as your operation of said vehicle is illegal
