A new athletic training program has moved into Oxford.

John Nelson, founder of Elite Level Performance, is offering athletic training to local athletes starting at 13 years old.

This program is located at The Farm, a baseball facility located on Highway 7 South in Lafayette County. Nelson trains athletes three afternoons a week during the summer on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Elite Level Performance, ELP, was founded and is located in Collierville, Tennessee and has had many athletes that come from Mississippi.

When presented with the opportunity to begin this program, Nelson said he could not contain his enthusiasm.

“We’ve always envisioned coming into Mississippi,” Nelson said. “When 80% of your athletes are down in Mississippi, it makes sense to do something like this.”

While baseball is the primary focus of this program, Nelson works with athletes from multiple sports.

For those getting started, more information can be found on ELP’s website elitelevelperformance.com or by contacting them at (901)-221-8808.
