The head of Oxford’s Kroger, Latoya Sullivan, was named a Top Woman in Grocery honoree by Progressive Grocer magazine.

Sullivan, store leader, has worked for Kroger for 19 years and has been a store manager for more than 10 years.

According to the nomination, Sullivan “continues to care for our customers, advances equity with diverse products on our shelves, eliminates hunger in the community and provides a Full, Fresh and Friendly shopping experience. Her fearless attitude and strong work ethic have been a true example of excellence throughout the Delta Division. Latoya continues to uplift her team, our customers and the entire community.”

The annual recognition honors thousands of trailblazing women across the country in the food retail industry who are committed to serving the community.

Sullivan, earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the University of Mississippi and her master’s degree in Accountancy at the University of Phoenix.

Sullivan joins 55 women leaders across the entire Kroger enterprise who were named Top Women in Grocery in the senior executive, rising star and store leader categories.

“I want to take a moment to express my most profound appreciation to all the remarkable women who have contributed to creating paths for myself and other women leaders in the grocery industry,” Sullivan said on her LinkedIn account after learning of the award.

TWIG honorees will be formally recognized for their accomplishments during an awards gala in early November in Orlando during Progressive Grocer’s Impact conference.
