24-year-old woman dead after semi crash in Preble County

A 24-year-old woman is dead after a crash involving a semi in Preble County early Wednesday morning.

The crash happened at approximately 3:45 a.m. on US 127, just south of Camden College Corner Road.

The preliminary investigation found that a 2006 Toyota Scion, driven by Taylor Hicks, 24, of Oxford, was heading south on US 127 when her vehicle traveled left of center and hit the trailer of a northbound semi, according to the Preble County Sheriff’s Office.

The semi was driven by Jimmie Richardson, age 54, of Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

Hicks was thrown from her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.

Richardson was not injured in the crash.

Hicks was transported to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office where an autopsy will be performed.

US 127 was closed for several hours while the investigation was completed.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
