OXFORD, Pa. — Town officials are taking advantage of what — for many — is a long holiday weekend — to celebrate Independence Day for a little while longer.

Sounds of Summer will start at 5:15 Friday with a kids bicycle parade starting at Locust and Third Streets and ending at Broad. Kids are encourage to wear red, white and blue and to decorate their bicycle, tricycle or other pedal powered vehicle.

At the end of the parade route are food trucks, vendors, activities and music. Oxford Mainstreet is bringing three bands to the stage: Gunpowder Lane plays from 6 until 6:45 p.m. followed by Don McAvoy and the Great Whatever from 7 until 7:45 and then, the finale will be Nick Lombardi from 8 until 8:45.
