Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is scheduled to take the stand in a paternity trial, which began Monday morning at the federal courthouse in Texarkana.

The trial in the U.S. District Court, where Judge Robert W. Schroeder III is presiding, is expected to last four or five days.

As a result, Jones’ arrival for Dallas Cowboys training camp in Oxnard, Calif., will be delayed and so will his annual opening press conference.

The press conference has been pushed back from Wednesday until Saturday, per a Cowboys spokesman.

The team is set to arrive on Tuesday.

Jones is countersuing Alexandra Davis, who claims to be his daughter, for breaking a contract Jones had with Davis’ mother Cynthia, signed in 1998.

Jones filed the counter suit after Davis’ defamation suit was dismissed in March.

    Jones denies being Davis’ father.

All three parties are expected to testify in the trial.

Attorney Chip Babcock opened the proceeding by telling the jury that Jones upheld his end of the bargain.

He added that Jones paid double what was agreed upon.

According to Jones’ claim, the agreement with Davis-Spencer included a lump payment of $375,000; reimbursement for medical expenses incurred during and after her pregnancy; and housing.

Jones also established two trusts for Davis’ “care and benefit” until she turned 21 years old, the lawsuit states.

Jones claims that up to the time Davis turned 18, he made 230 payments to her until totaling approximately $1.9 million, including $70,457 for a new Range Rover vehicle and $33,714.11 for a Sweet 16 birthday party.

Jones claims he made 140 payments to her totaling $1.2 million from the time Davis was 18 to when she filed her lawsuit in 2022,.

“Plaintiff received approximately: $18,000 for a trip to Paris, France; $270,000 for four full years of undergraduate tuition and expenses at Southern Methodist University; $6,500 for a college graduation party; and $24,000 for a post-college graduation trip to Hong Kong, China, and Japan, among others,” the lawsuit states.

The lawsuit claims Jones has already given Davis approximately $3.2 million.

Babcock he would present evidence proving Cynthia and Alexandria knowing the breached the contract.

“Jones did everything he was obligated to do and then some,” Babcock told jurors.

The agreement has already been affirmed as a legitimate and legal contract by a Texas judge.

Alexandra Davis’ attorney Jay Gray told the jury his opening that Jones simply trying to protect his “real family” with the agreement.

“This is a case built on broken promises from Mr. Jones to his wife ... not Alexandra Davis,” Gray said.

Jones’ filed the countersuit after Alexandra Davis filed in March 2023, accusing him and others of a “character assassination attack,” stemming from her initial suit in 2022 in an effort to establish paternity a year.

The suit was dismissed in March .

Per court records, Shy Anderson, Jones’ ex-son-in-law, is expected to testify in the trial against Jones.

Jones’ family could also be called to testify, including his wife Gene Jones as well their daughter Charlotte Jones and sons Stephen Jones and Jerry Jones Jr.
