DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - Northside Methodist’s Kingston Whaley is our 2024 Week 0 Friday Night Football Player of the Week!. Despite a 20-11 loss on the road at Pataula Charter Academy in Georgia, Whaley stood out for the Knights, especially on the defensive side of the ball. He finished on that end with 13 tackles and 1 interception, while offensively he had 15 carries for 79 yards and also recorded 60 yards receiving.

Abbeville chase ends in two-vehicle crash, charges filed
ABBEVILLE, Ala. (WTVY) - A traffic stop in Abbeville on Thursday turned into a chase that ended with a two-vehicle crash and charges filed against the suspect involved. According to a release sent out on Friday, officers pulled over 31-year-old Michael L. McDonald at around 1:15 p.m. after witnessing McDonald commit a traffic violation.
