Pace Water System has applied to develop a new 6,400-square-foot lawn & maintenance building, according to the project’s site plan filed with Santa Rosa County.

The proposed building is planned to be near Vinewood Lane on a portion of a 237-acre parcel, which will also partially overlap with one of Florida Power & Light's easements in the area.

The facility will have one office, one bathroom and a recreational room that will also serve as a kitchen, according to the project’s architecture drawings that are filed with Santa Rosa County.

PWS is a member-owned, not-for-profit corporation that began operations in 1964 and is based in Pace off of Woodbine Road.

Their goal is to construct, maintain and operate a utility system to supply water, sewage, and other public services to the Pace community and other areas of Santa Rosa County, according to their website, which also says their system has about 17,000 customer connections today.

The parcel's sales data on the Santa Rosa County Property Appraiser's website shows that PWS purchased it in 2017 for $2,381,700 and then turned it over to an entity named Pace Property Finance Authority, Inc. later in the month.

According to PWS’ website, Pace Property Finance Authority, Inc. (PPFA) is a county-owned, not for profit corporation that began operations in 1990 whose purpose is to borrow and finance the construction of the wastewater system and other utility systems as needed.

The board of directors at PWS act as the board for PPFA as well, according to the former’s website.
