This giant, prehistoric fanged salmon is even more bizarre than scientists thought
EUGENE, Ore. — In the rivers of the ancient Pacific Northwest, a colossal salmon once swam – one that dwarfed even the largest of today’s prized catches. For decades, this extinct giant has captured imaginations as the “Sabertooth Salmon,” conjuring images of a fish with fearsome downward-pointing fangs. But a study published in PLOS ONE reveals that we’ve been telling fish tales about this prehistoric marvel all along.

Donovan Clingan's Summer League honor confirms draft steal for Blazers
The NBA announced the All-Summer League First Team and Second Team honors. Here are the results:. Donovan Clingan finished the Las Vegas Summer League, averaging the most rebounds per game at 12.3. Even more impressively, his 4.2 blocks per game were the most in the history of Summer League, surpassing "The Alien," Victor Wembanyama, who averaged four a game. The main appeal for Clingan as a draft prospect was his rebounding and rim-protecting abilities. He was even in consideration for the No. 1 overall pick by the Atlanta Hawks because of these traits. He possesses elite size at 7-foot-2 and is excellent at moving his feet, given his frame.

Primus, Coheed And Cambria Stir Up Mosh Pit Of Heavy Metal Nostalgia In Oregon [Photos/Videos]
A diverse crowd gathered near Portland, OR on Friday for a concert at McMenamins Edgefield featuring Primus and Coheed and Cambria. When it was announced back in February, the co-headlining tour took some by surprise, seeing as Coheed’s heavily conceptual prog rock falls outside Primus’ psychedelic music festival milieu, though upon reflection, the pairing makes perfect sense. Primus has always had a strong footing in both the heavy metal world and jam band scene thanks to Les Claypool‘s idiosyncratic style and eclectic taste. The band recently toured with A Perfect Circle and Puscifer—both fronted by Tool singer Maynard James Keenan—and its heavy metal street credit may have actually peaked around the time that Coheed blew up on a national level with help from games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero, which also featured tracks from Primus.
