Green Bay Packers Jordan Morgan Reveals Position Preference
By Kenneth Teape,

One of the storylines people will be keeping a close eye on with the Green Bay Packers this offseason is where first-round pick Jordan Morgan will play. The Arizona product played tackle collegiately, but some evaluators are unsure if he can handle the position in the pros.
As a result, there is a contingent that believes the Packers should move Morgan inside to guard. There is certainly a need there with Jon Runyan Jr. departing in free agency and signing with the New York Giants. Rumors have also swirled that Josh Myers may not be long for the starting center spot, which could mean Zach Tom kicks inside and the right tackle spot is open.
Regardless of what Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur decides to do with the alignment, Jordan Morgan is excited to be a part of it. However, if he did have his choice on where to play, he would like to remain at left tackle.
“At the end of the day, I would love to play left tackle and show all my talents and strengths at left tackle because I’ve been there so long, and I feel like that’s where I’ll thrive the most, but any position is fine with me too,” Morgan told Larry McCarren of Packers.com. (H/T Packers Wire)
The No. 25 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Jordan Morgan has nearly 2,500 snaps played at left tackle under his belt at Arizona. The Green Bay Packers are going to at least give him a chance there, as he played on the blindside to start rookie minicamp.
Whatever Morgan is lacking when it comes to the ideal length, he makes up for with his athleticism. However, he isn’t going to be handed the job; he will have to earn it, which means beating out Rasheed Walker.
Walker stepped up big time for Green Bay in 2023. When David Bakhtiari went down with a knee injury after Week 1, it was Walker who stepped into the starting lineup and protected the blindside of Jordan Love.
The Green Bay Packers are going to play their five best offensive linemen in whatever combination they see fit. That is the luxury of having versatile players such as Jordan Morgan, as LaFleur and his staff can mix and match.
