FARGO – The North Dakota Peace Officers Association’s (NDPOA) annual conference is underway in Fargo, gathering law enforcement officers from across the state to acknowledge their service and honor those who have fallen in the line of duty. The NDPOA has a history dating back to 1911, evolving from the Sheriffs’ Association to become a unified voice for the entire criminal justice system in North Dakota.

Louis Jamernik named UND varsity hockey captain
(KNOX) – Fifth-year forward Louis Jamernik V has been named the 2024-25 University of North Dakota hockey captain in a vote by his peers, the program announced on Friday. Joining him in the leadership group is senior forward Jake Schmaltz, who will wear a letter for the second straight season, as well as senior forward Cameron Berg, senior forward Jackson Kunz and junior defenseman Bennett Zmolek, who will all don the “A” on their sweaters for the first time in their careers.

New Military Monument to Grace Hillside Memory Gardens in Williston ND
The Williston Basin Military Affairs Committee is currently fundraising for a new military monument to be placed at the entrance of Hillside Memory Gardens. The monument, named "Patriot Gate," will feature two statues: one depicting a Gold Star mother kneeling on both knees and the other showing a soldier kneeling on one knee. This unique memorial will honor not only those who fell in battle but also their families.
