Alex Rodriguez posts cryptic quote about ‘direction’ after ex Jennifer Lopez files for divorce from Ben Affleck

Alex Rodriguez has entered the chat.

The retired athlete shared a cryptic quote to Instagram Stories on Tuesday after ex-fiancée Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck.

The ex-MLB player, 49, reposted one of his own statements , which read, “You either go one way or the other, you might as well be the one deciding the direction.”

Rodriguez began dating Lopez , 55, in 2017 and got down on one knee two years later.

The former couple ended their engagement in April 2021.

“We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so,” the duo wrote in a joint statement at the time. “We wish the best for each other and one another’s children.”

That same year, Lopez reconciled with Affleck , whom she was previously engaged to from 2002 to 2004 .

The actor, 52, proposed in April 2022 , marrying his “Gigli” co-star in a Las Vegas wedding that July.

They tied the knot again in Georgia in August 2022 — the same day Lopez filed for divorce two years later.

The “Let’s Get Loud” singer listed April 26 as their date of separation .

She and Affleck have been living separately , with Page Six reporting in May that the Oscar winner “came to his senses” about their “fever dream” romance .

Another source told us in July that the pair had been “over” for months .

Before Affleck and Lopez’s relationship took a tumultuous turn, Rodriguez wished his ex “the very best” during a CNN appearance.

During the October 2022 interview, he also gushed over Lopez’s “smart and beautiful and wonderful” 16-year-old kids, Emme and Max .

The businessman has since moved on with fitness instructor Jac Cordeiro .

Lopez shares her twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Affleck is the father of Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

The former couple brought their eldest two children to Connecticut over the weekend to move Violet into her Yale University dorm .

Garner, 52, has been a self-proclaimed “wreck” over the teen fleeing the nest. She and Affleck were previously married from 2005 to 2018 and has supported him amid his split from Lopez.
