Judge Mathis’ wife, Linda, files for divorce after 39 years of marriage

Judge Greg Mathis is now the focus of the court’s judgment.

Mathis’ wife, Linda Yvette Mathis, has filed for divorce after 39 years of marriage on Aug. 22, court documents show. Yvette cited “irreconcilable differences” as the cause of the split.

Linda, 61, listed July 17 as the date of separation with Greg. She’s requesting spousal support from his honor and is seeking her requirement of spousal support be waved.

She also is looking for the “Judge Mathis” host to pay her attorney’s fees.

Greg, 64, has yet to respond to Linda’s petition.

Reps for the Mathis family didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

The “Mathis Family Matters” stars met at Eastern Michigan University and dated for four years before getting engaged and marrying. They went on to welcome four kids: sons Greg Jr., 35, and Amir, 34, and daughters Jade, 39, and Camara, 36.

Greg previously has credited Linda for supporting his near-constant work schedule in order to provide for them.

“After coming out of the streets in Detroit, Linda allowed me to work 15 hours a day, five, six days a week,” he said upon earning his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “So it’s that support that allowed me to pursue the success that you see.”

At the time, Linda agreed, saying, “Our love and support runs deep. That’s how the Mathis family rolls.”

Greg appeared as a TV judge on his self-titled show for 24 years until 2023, presiding over more than 13,000 cases. Last fall, he premiered “Mathis Court With Judge Mathis.”
