The baseball field made famous in the 1992 movie “A League of Their Own” has burned down.

ABC7, a local news outlet, reported Friday that Jay Littleton Ball Park in Ontario, Calif. — which has been used in several other films as well — was destroyed overnight.

The fire reportedly began Thursday around 11:30 p.m. local time.

When responding firefighters arrived, they reportedly encountered massive flames coming from the stadium and dugout.

Though little could be done to save the areas, no injuries were reported.

According to the outlet, arson investigators were combing through the burnt remains Friday morning.

The baseball field was built in the 1930s with a wooden frame grandstand.

Officials told ABC7 that the structure — which has been renovated multiple times — still likely contained a lot of old wood, which is dry and burns easily and quickly.

Though it was featured in several Hollywood productions, the most well-known is “A League of Their Own,” which stars Tom Hanks, Geena Davis, Madonna and Rosie O’Donnell.

Today, Jay Littleton Ball Park is owned by the city and operated by the public works agency.

    Community members are devastated.

“This ball park has been the heart of Ontario; it’s a historical ball park, place to play for our kids,” said Aaron Matthiesen, president of the Ontario Eastern Little League, according to the outlet.

“Unfortunately, we’re not going to be able to get a chance to play in it anymore.”
