Taylor Rousseau Grigg and her husband, Cameron Grigg, celebrated their first wedding anniversary less than two months before the TikTok star died unexpectedly.
On Aug. 19, Taylor celebrated the special day by posting a short montage from their 2023 nuptials.
“Happy one year to us. I love you Cameron!! 💛,” she captioned the video on Instagram.
The video featured clips of the influencer celebrating with her bridesmaids, another of her walking down the aisle and snippets of Cameron’s hand-written vows, in which he praised his wife for pushing through all the “negativity and hate.”
“No one ever expects to have to deal with this kind of pain and heartache, especially at our age,” he wrote alongside photos of his bride.
“This past year, Taylor has dealt with more pain and suffering than most people do in a lifetime. And in spite of that, she still has been such a light and always brought joy to everyone around her.”
Cameron called his wife “the most brave and strong woman” he has ever met whose “confidence in the Lord outweighed every other circumstance she’s faced, even in her darkest hours.”
He noted that Taylor’s “earthly body” was “still here with us being ran by machines” so that her organs could be donated.
“More than anything Taylor would want to know that she’s continuing to save people’s lives even after she’s gone from this world,” he wrote.
Cameron did not disclose his wife’s cause of death but assured fans that she is “no longer in pain” after being “in and out of the hospital” for the last year.
He concluded the post by sharing a link to a GoFundMe page to help cover her medical bills and funeral expenses.
Taylor sat down to respond to concerns about why she had been looking so “unhappy,” assuring fans that it had nothing to do with her marriage but rather an undisclosed diagnosis.
“Cameron is the best thing that ever happened to me,” she gushed in the eight-minute video. “He dug me out of the hole that I was in … and he carried me, and is still carrying me, and has for a while. He’s a great husband and great guy.”
However, she said she “got sick” immediately after they tied the knot.
“I barely found out what was wrong with me, so I was just struggling that whole time feeling like I was going to die,” she shared.
“That’s exactly what I told Cameron the other day, it just feels like I have to fight for life, to live every single day. And that’s hard on somebody and obviously that shows when I’m filming,” Taylor added.
“I’m unhappy with the circumstances that my body is in but I’m kind of paying the consequences for my own actions for putting my body through more than it could handle.”
