Savannah Guthrie seemingly hinted her time on the “Today” show may be winding down after Hoda Kotb announced her exit from the morning show.
“We’re dear friends and we have a lot of similarities,” she told Us Weekly Thursday at Project Healthy Minds 2nd Annual World Mental Health Day Gala in New York City while speaking about her co-anchor’s departure.
“We’re basically in the same phase of life,” she added, seemingly alluding to a possible exit for herself.
Page Six reached out to Guthrie’s rep for clarification on her comment.
“I think if the bosses had their way she would be here for life,” our source added. “She is the beating heart of ‘Today’ — there is so much support for her.”
The TV insider also noted that “there was chatter that Savannah was planning her own exit” for 2025, but Kotb’s announcement “has made that all but impossible.”
While speaking about Kotb’s exit with Page Six at Thursday’s World Mental Health Day Gala, Guthrie said she felt mixed emotions when she heard the big news .
“It’s complicated because it’s, like, I’m so happy for her and I’m so proud of her as her friend because she’s following her heart and it’s a big bode of confidence in herself and her future not because she knows what it will be but because she believes in herself and she trusts her gut,” she explained.
