Madeline Gaudreau put on a smile to celebrate her baby shower over the weekend — less than two months after her husband, Matthew Gaudreau, tragically died in a car accident .
Madeline — who is expecting her first child, a baby boy named Tripp Matthew, with her late husband — shared several photos from the sweet celebration, themed “A Little Piece of Heaven,” via Instagram.
“Baby Shower of my Dreams 🤍🕊️,” she captioned the post on Saturday.
Madeline thanked all the “amazing” people who helped throw the shower and also raved that her husband “would have loved” all the balloons.
“The way you were able to tie in my husband brought instant tears when I walked in,” she gushed. “All my friends and family, nothing will bring his dad back or uncle john, but I am glad he has so many amazing people around him to remind him how amazing they were 💙.”
Guests enjoyed custom cookies that were shaped as moons, clouds and gold stars. The sweet treats were decorated to the match the theme, with phrases like “Heaven Sent” and some with Tripp’s moniker.
Madeline showed off her growing baby bump in a light blue maxi dress as she posed for several photos with friends and family members, including many from Matthew’s side of the family.
Madeline’s sister-in-law, Meredith Gaudreau, was in attendance and smiled in pictures with Madeline. Meredith — who is pregnant with her third child — was married to Matthew’s brother, Johnny Gaudreau, the NHL star who tragically died alongside his brother.
“Felt the love from your Daddy and Uncle John today. We love you Tripp Matthew. 🤍,” she captioned her Instagram post, which featured photos with Madeline, Meredith and other members of the family.
