On Saturday evening, Taylor Swift, 34, stepped out for date night with boyfriend Travis Kelce in New York City in a statement-making outfit that got fans talking.
The “Cruel Summer” singer toted around Roberto Cavalli’s monogram mirror snake shoulder bag ($1,423). Featuring snakes and the letter “R” — twisting the brand’s normal logo into a slithering version — the clutch could serve as an Easter egg; some fans think it may be subtly hinting at the upcoming release of her re-recorded album, “Reputation (Taylor’s Version).”
“The purse is giving serious Rep vibes,” one person commented on popular Instagram page TaylorSwiftStyle . Another said, “That’s an R and 2 snakes. I repeat: THATS AN R AND 2 SNAKES” while a third declared, “Snake bag, something is brewing.”
The slithering didn’t stop there; her mules were also adorned with Versace’s signature gold Medusa motif, with the iconic logo depicting a woman with snakes as hair.
The Kansas City Chief tight end’s night-out look, meanwhile, consisted of a bright blue Marni shirt, cargo pants, and Nike Air Force 1 sneakers.
As it happens, Roberto Cavalli’s creative director Fausto Puglisi was behind a slew of the singer’s performance looks for her Eras Tour, which of course included more than a few snakes.
“When Joseph explained to me [that she’s] the queen of snakes, I thought that was a fantastic idea. And at the end of the day, it became so iconic,” Puglisi told Page Six Style in an exclusive interview in June, referencing her catsuit enlivened with serpents.
Back to this past weekend. The evening prior, Swift and Kelce were snapped on a double date with close friends Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds in NYC.
For the outing, Swift donned a Polo Ralph Lauren camel-hair long coat ($2,498), a Gucci corset ($1,770), and RTA’s Mason Skirt ($195). Meanwhile, the athlete rocked a print shirt from Jacquemus and khaki pants.
While she prepares to resume her tour later this month, fans are certainly anxious for any impending announcements.
