    High Museum of Art

    The High Museum of Art is located on Peachtree Street in Atlanta's arts district in Midtown. The museum was founded in 1905. The High's permanent collection contains more than 18,000 pieces of art in the areas of African art, American art, decorative arts and design, European art, folk and self-taught art, modern and contemporary art, and photography. There really is something for every type of art-lover at the High Museum of Art.

    Admission to the High Museum of Art costs $14.50 per person. Children under 6 get in for free.

    Atlanta Contemporary Art Center

    The Atlanta Contemporary Art Center was founded in 1973 as a grassroots artists' cooperative. Today, it is one of the Southeast's leading contemporary art centers. The center showcases over 200 local, national, and international artists through various exhibitions, project spaces, and programs. They put a focus on commission in new works from artists who have not had a prior significant exhibition in the Southeast.

    Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia (MOCA GA)

    The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia collects and archives significant contemporary works by artists in the state of Georgia and displays these artworks alongside works from around the world, placing local artists in a global context. MOCA GA displays more than 1,300 works of art, with an ever-expanding permanent collection.

    Admission to the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia costs $5 per person. Children under 6, military members, and veterans get in for free.

    Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA)

    The Museum of Design Atlanta is located on Peachtree Street in Atlanta's arts district in Midtown just a 2 minute walk from the High Museum of Art. It is the only museum in the Southeast devoted exclusively to the study of design. MODA presents exhibitions exploring how design affects people's daily lives, including a focus on architecture, industrial design, interior design, graphics, and fashion.

    Admission to the Museum of Design Atlanta costs $10 for adults over 26; $8 for seniors, military members, and educators; $5 for those under 26; and free for children under 5. You can get a discount by purchasing your tickets online in advance.

    Michael C. Carlos Museum

    The Michael C. Carlos Museum is located at the historic quadrangle of Emory University. This museum has the largest ancient art collection in the Southeast. Exhibits include artworks from ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome, Africa, the Near East, and the Americas as well as a collection of works on paper from the Renaissance to the present day.

    Admission to the Michael C. Carlos Museum costs $8 for adults; $6 for seniors, students, and children aged 6-17; and free for Emory University students, faculty, and staff with their Emory ID and children under 5. You can also rent an audio guide for an additional $2.
