    Kimball House

Occupying a space that was once an 1891 train station, Kimball House in Decatur is a sleek restaurant that resembles something out of The Great Gatsby. Enjoy fresh oysters from the raw bar while you sip a carefully crafted cocktail from their unique menu. The Kimball House is the perfect date night spot; grab a drink at the big wooden bar or head out to the patio to enjoy the night air.

    Wrecking Bar Brewpub

Located in the basement of an old Victorian mansion in Little Five Points is the Wrecking Bar Brewpub. This popular gastropub has an extensive bar program and beer crafted in house. You can grab a fun beer, from a stout to a kolsch, made on a seven-barrel system on site. Their cocktail menu is unique and innovative, and in the warm summer months, you can order a nice cold drink from their frozen drink machine.

Sister Louisa’s Church of the Living Room & Ping Pong Emporium

Sister Louisa’s Church of the Living Room & Ping Pong Emporium is a bar, though the name doesn’t suggest it. Church describes itself as an art gallery that serves alcohol. Inside, the walls are covered with iconography ranging from funny to offensive. On Mondays, you can participate in a World Class Ping Pong Tournament; on Tuesday nights, you can get a tarot reading; on Wednesday nights, you can take part in Church Organ Karaoke; and Thursdays through Sundays are reserved for good old fashioned fun times.

    Hotel Clermont

The Rooftop at Hotel Clermont is one of Atlanta’s top rooftop bars. At this bar, you’ll get amazing skyline views, frosé in the summer, and hot toddies in the fall. You can kick back on the Astroturf “lawn” while you enjoy your drink in casual lawn chairs overlooking the city. Seating is first-come, first-served, and you can expect to find a long line waiting for the elevator to the rooftop.

    Manuel’s Tavern

For an old school bar vibe, check out Manuel’s Tavern in Poncey-Highland. The history of this Atlanta institution is rooted in politics. The original owner of the bar, Manuel Maloof, was known as the “Godfather” of Georgia Democratic politics and the tavern is frequented by major political figures as well as by blue collar workers, the press, and anyone else you can imagine. It’s a great place to grab a local craft beer and become a regular.
