Welcome to South Cobb Festival coming in October

    2021-08-11

Members of the South Cobb community will be hosting the Welcome to South Cobb Festival on October 9, 2021 at Riverview Landing in Mableton, Georgia. The festival will celebrate the district’s thriving outdoor and nature-based attractions and offerings.

The Welcome to South Cobb Festival will highlight the area’s environmentally friendly spaces and outdoor areas where visitors and locals alike can breathe fresh air, play, and enjoy some family-friendly recreation. The festival was created to showcase life in South Cobb and to display for tourists what they can look forward to as guests visiting the area.

The South Cobb sights and attractions highlighted by the festival include the Chattahoochee River, the Silver Comet Trail, the Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre, Six Flags Over Georgia, Sweetwater Creek State Park, Downtown Powder Springs, train watching in Austell, Discovery Park at the Riverline, and tennis courts and golf courses throughout the county.

The festival will feature many different activities for all age groups. There will be food trucks and vendors, craft beverages, music, national entertainment, wine tasting, yoga, game trucks, face painting, eco-friendly fun and education for kids, a mini carnival, cooking demonstrations, and more surprises. There will even be a big screen for watching the Auburn/Georgia football game. You can expect to be entertained by national R&B recording artist Ginuwine as well as other talent all day long.

The highly anticipated event will be held at Riverview Landing on the Chattahoochee, a sustainably-minded mixed-use development in Mableton (the City of Smyrna) with shops, restaurants, apartments, bike paths, walking trails, kayaking, and a concert amphitheater. This space for green living on the riverfront is also the focus of the Chattahoochee Riverlands Project, a redevelopment collaboration between The Trust for Public Land, Atlanta Regional Commission, and Cobb County, that aims to provide a safe connective corridor, a common ground for all, an ecological refuge, and a living legacy for future generations through its collaborative efforts. The festival will help highlight the tremendous asset of the Chattahoochee River and the work of the Chattahoochee Riverlands Project.

The Welcome to South Cobb Festival will be held on October 9, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Event organizers are encouraging local South Cobb residents to share their stores, stay updated, and engage through Instagram, Facebook, and the event’s website.

Currently, the event is recommending attendees bring a mask and observe CDC guidelines for interacting with others in an outdoor environment.

Ticket prices range from $10 to $65. You can book before October 1, 2021 for a discounted Early Bird price for general admission. General admission includes entry for the park and access to all day entertainment. VIP tickets are market for seating near the stage, the Riverview Landing on the Chattahoochee, and the Observation Deck.
