This highly anticipated virtual expedition, produced by Excurio and distributed by Eclipso, will open its doors on April 27 in the vibrant Poncey-Highland neighborhood, right on the Atlanta Beltline.

Horizon of Khufu offers an unparalleled opportunity to step into the world of the Pharaohs and explore the Great Pyramid of Giza—one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The 45-minute adventure, suitable for ages eight and up, spans 11,000 square feet of captivating space. Guests will be able to explore the intricate tombs of Pharaoh Khufu, navigate the tranquil waters of the Nile, witness ancient mummification ceremonies, and even attend the grand funeral of King Khufu himself.

Antoine Lieutaud, CEO of Eclipso, expressed his excitement: “We're thrilled to announce the launch of our first immersive expedition in the U.S. with the grand opening of Eclipso’s Horizon of Khufu in Atlanta, in partnership with Excurio. Whether you’re someone who enjoys immersive experiences, a family looking for treasured memories, or an adventure seeker – the stunning visuals and realistic recreations offer something for everyone to explore, without having to travel across the globe.”

Eclipso has already captivated audiences in France and the U.K., attracting over 400,000 visitors. The Atlanta opening marks the start of their U.S. journey, with a flagship location set to open in New York City this summer.

Developed by Excurio, a leader in immersive cultural experiences, and in collaboration with Egyptologist Peter Der Manuelian from the Giza Archives Project at Harvard University, Horizon of Khufu is based on extensive archaeological and historical data. The experience promises historical accuracy and true-to-size recreations that will fascinate history buffs, technology enthusiasts, and adventure seekers alike.

Fabien Barati, CEO of Emissive, emphasized the project's ambition: "We’ve worked tirelessly to develop Immersive Expeditions and create an experience which enables people to travel through time and witness a wonder of the world, right at their doorstep. Horizon of Khufu has been so well received across the globe and we hope locals and tourists of all ages will be captivated by this once-in-a-lifetime journey."

Horizon of Khufu opens on April 27, 2024, at 550 Somerset Terrace NE, Atlanta, GA (the former Illuminarium location). Operating hours are Monday to Friday from 12 PM to 8 PM, Saturday from 10 AM to 9 PM, and Sunday from 10 AM to 8 PM. Tickets are available now and can be purchased here.
