Illuminate Your Holidays with IllumiNights at Zoo Atlanta

Get ready for one of Atlanta’s most magical holiday traditions—IllumiNights at the Zoo, presented by Georgia Power! Kicking off on November 14, 2024, and running through January 19, 2025, this enchanting lantern festival invites you to step into a world of dazzling lights and natural wonders, perfect for creating lasting holiday memories.

IllumiNights transforms Zoo Atlanta into a breathtaking evening spectacle, where guests embark on a mile-long journey surrounded by hundreds of hand-crafted and intricately painted lanterns.

Each lantern celebrates the beauty and diversity of the natural world, with scenes inspired by the wonders of the sea and creatures of the sky. Every year, brand-new lanterns are added to keep the experience fresh and exciting for both first-timers and returning visitors.

Alongside the stunning visuals, guests can indulge in winter delights like hot cocoa, festive snacks, and meals available at select concession stands. For those over 21, signature holiday spirits will also be served to keep the winter chill at bay. Don’t miss the chance to roast marshmallows or take a magical ride on the Endangered Species Carousel—a family favorite that adds extra fun to the night.

Returning this year is Elf Power, Inc., an immersive holiday virtual reality experience at the Zoo’s Wild Explorer VR Theater, presented in partnership with Immotion. It’s a holiday adventure like no other, bringing extra festive fun to your visit.

While the Zoo’s animals head indoors after dark, IllumiNights offers a new perspective with its radiant lantern displays. If you’re hoping to see the living animal residents of Zoo Atlanta, plan a separate daytime visit to enjoy their company.

Zoo Atlanta Members are in for a special treat with exclusive Member Preview Nights from November 14 to 17. On these dates, Members can explore IllumiNights early and enjoy deep discounts on tickets. Plus, a regular Member discount will be available throughout the festival's entire run.

IllumiNights at the Zoo will be open nightly from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with the last entry at 8:00 p.m. Please note that the event will be closed on select holidays, including Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Since capacity is limited, advance ticket purchase is strongly recommended. This special event is separately ticketed and not included in general daytime admission to the Zoo.
