A lot has been made of the potential of Lake Catholic’s high-scoring offense this season. This just in — the Cougars can play some serious defense, too. Frankie Trinetti threw for 117 yards and a touchdown, and D.J. Sears ran for a score, but it was Lake Catholic’s defense that shone the brightest in a 14-0 win over Cardinal Mooney in a game played at YSU’s Stambaugh Stadium on Aug. 23.
