PAINTED POST, N.Y. ( WETM ) – CareFirstNY is hosting a butterfly release memorial service later this week for community members to celebrate the lives of those they have lost.

The event will be on Thursday, July 25, at 6 p.m. at CareFirstNY on 3805 Meads Creek Road in Painted Post. During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to release a butterfly to remember and pay tribute to those who are no longer with us.

A ceremony will be held by the team at CareFirstNY to guide attendees and provide solace and support as they remember their lost loved ones. The release of the butterfly will symbolize the beauty and transformation of life.

If you’re interested in attending the event, you must register beforehand to reserve a spot by July 24 to ensure that there are enough butterflies for those who would like to release one. Attendance for the event is free, but butterflies must be purchased ahead of time for $10 each due to a limited supply. You can register online here .
