Breathitt Co. business destroyed in fire
JACKSON, Ky. (WYMT) - A business in Breathitt County was destroyed after an early Saturday morning fire. Officials with the Jackson Fire Department said the fire happened at a building on Lower Main St. in Jackson. Crews blocked off the road for several hours as they put out the flames.
Wayland, Kentucky mayor discusses decision to opt out of medical marijuana program
A small town in eastern Kentucky will not participate in the state’s medical marijuana program. Wayland, in Floyd County, has a population of about 400. Mayor Jerry Fultz said he and the city commission spoke to the city attorney and police chief before voting unanimously to opt out on August 8.

LETCHER COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - The Letcher Central Cougars and the No. 9 Shelby Valley Wildcats met on the first Friday of high school football. The Cougars found the end zone twice in the first quarter to lead 13-0.
