    Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a swell weekend. Did you attend one of the events I suggested Friday? Perhaps we met at Archway Days? In any case, here's to another week.

    And speaking of Centerville ...

LifeWise Academy has exploded in popularity in Indiana this year after the passage of a new bill requiring schools to allow students to leave during the school day for religious instruction.

The previous version of the bill had suggested that schools can give permission but were not required to, resulting in Centerville Abington schools working with the program one year after initial discussions.

The program, open to only seventh- and eighth-graders for now, will allow students to leave during a 90-minute study hall period to attend religious instruction classes at Centerville Christian Church through the academy.

As of now, Centerville Christian Church's engagement and outreach coordinator, Shari Markley, said fewer than 10 students were signed up for the program. But she said they expect to grow after outreach to residents during Archway Days over the weekend.
