RICHMOND, Ind. — The Richmond Police Department is investigating the shooting of a local man.

According to a news release, about 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, city police responded to a report of a shooting in the 800 block of North D Street.

The victim, identified as Jacob M. Snyder, sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the arm, according to the release, and was treated at Reid Health.

Detectives recovered evidence from the scene, including shell casings and other forensic materials, and are investigating the circumstances of the incident.

"Preliminary information indicates that this was a targeted act, and there is no ongoing threat to the safety of the community," the release said.

The Richmond Police Department urges anyone with information related to this incident to come forward. Residents and businesses in the area with surveillance cameras are also asked to review their footage for any potential evidence that might assist in the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Richmond Police Department at 765-983-7247 or via email at RPDCRIMETIP@richmondindiana.gov.
